The most recent Apple Watch 11th generation delivers the improvement many users really need in a wearable device: longer battery life.
Otherwise, the updated device serves as a direct replacement to the Series 10, keeping pace in styling, dimensions and capabilities, with most of enhancements originating from watchOS.
The Series 11 is also more affordable by £30 for UK customers, costing from 369 pounds (€449/399 dollars/679 Australian dollars), positioned above the recently updated Watch SE at £219 for entry-level buyers and the £749 Ultra 3 at the high end.
Build and Interface
Following the design of Series 10, the latest iteration comes in at 9.7 millimeters in thickness, which makes it a slender profile to the wrist, easy to sneak beneath shirt sleeves plus more pleasant at night.
The 2,000nit display is plenty bright for viewing indoors and out, maintaining readability when viewed from different angles, enabling quickly looking at the time or notifications easy.
It is covered with glass that is twice as scratch resistant compared to previous models, although not as hard as sapphire, that remains exclusive with the higher-end titanium versions.
Capability and Runtime
The new watch incorporates identical S10 processor found in earlier versions but now supports optional 5G and stronger reception when you're away from civilization.
Energy storage have increased in storage significantly for the 42mm and 46mm watches correspondingly.
The 46mm lasted a good two days in our assessment including sleep monitoring excluding workout sessions.
The majority of users can nearly be able to track two full days with overnight use prior to requiring power, which takes just over an hour using a 20W or greater power adaptor (available separately), hitting about 70% in 30 minutes.
When you participate in workouts, battery endurance reaches approximately eight hours for monitoring, sufficient duration for a marathon or extended activities.
